Yoshihiro is a company rich with history, quality surpasses anything one could hope for and the attention to detail, nothing was missed. The handle has this amazing wood-grain, the blade, dreamy, perfectly balanced and a price point that you can't cry about. Do yourself a a favor, stop looking at it, buy it already! The first thing I did was to sharpen it and I'm happy to report that this knife really "takes an edge". It sharpened to a razor-edge! I've been using Shun knives for years and never have been able to get them as sharp. The knife is very well balanced and the slightly larger handle grip fits my hand perfectly. It may be too large for a woman's hand. I use the knife for making tropical fruit salads. Most tropical fruits have soft flesh and require a very sharp knife not to crush the fruit while slicing it into small pieces. I rate this knife excellent and highly recommend it to anyone who needs a a knife that will truly "take an edge".
