We have been using it now for several months; we didn't treat it with any teak oil, and it has still not begun to change color. I did attach rubber pads to the bottom of each leg, and because of the sloping shower base, I doubled up the pads on the front middle leg to prevent it from wobbling. Again super nice customer service, said they were very sorry about the 1st stool and didn't like sending out anything that wasn't perfect. So I just returned the 2nd one.The stool looks great in the shower, use it every single day. Great quality. Love it.
