This queen mates bed with its pure black finish has simple and elegant lines. It can be used with the full/queen bookcase headboard (54/60’’) (3170092) to form a more complete ensemble. This bed is made of recycled CARB compliant particle panels. The glides are made of polymer and include dampers and catches. It has to be assembled by two adults. Measures 62 inches wide by 82 inches long by 14 inches high. This queen mates bed is delivered in one box measuring 87 inches by 22 inches by 7 inches and weights 141 pounds. I spent a lot of time reading and researching beds and trying to find one that matched my tastes. This one has a nice price, a sleek black look, and wasn't difficult to assemble. I spent probably 3-4 hours assembling it. You could probably do it in less but I did it by myself and I wanted to make sure that I followed the directions properly to avoid mistakes. I did make one mistake but it was easily rectified. The instructions were well written but could use some color distinction to help you know which way to flip the pieces. You could figure this out yourself but it would be a good improvement.The bed itself is quite sturdy. I'm not a big guy at all so it has no trouble whatsoever with my weight. The material is particle board but it holds up well. I will probably buy the matching headboard later on. When it finally did come the UPS drivers refused to bring it upstairs because it was to heavy (not angry at them at all, i just opened it down stairs and brought it up piece by piece no problem) but an item like this if its weight is an issue should never have been accepted by the UPS system, and amazon who uses UPS all the time should KNOW what is and is not acceptable in the UPS system.
