When summer 2007 hit, my extended family loved my fan so much, they all bought one. I bought a second 'spare' as well. My 2 are working like a charm and quiet as a mouse, and as far as I know, theirs are working as well... so that's 4 total working great.Hopefully those who got defected ones were able to exchange them. I teach an exercise class and we NEED good fans. I liked these because they wouldn't take up a lot of our dance space and would have air blowing over most of a persons body since they are 4' tall. While I thought they were a little wobbly, they worked nicely. One of the bases did break as it often got moved around in the closet of the hall I rented, but I used them the whole first summer and they were great!Over the winter I moved into my own center and brought these with me. Now that it's summer it's REALLY HOT in my center because I don't have A/C yet. So, I got out the fans. They worked for about 1.5 weeks. Then one of them stopped responding to any of the buttons. It works if you plug it in, but it doesn't oscillate and you can only turn it off by unplugging it. Only days later the same thing happened to the other one.
